Tribeca Film Festival

Tribeca Film Festival is an annual film festival held in New York City. Founded in 2002 by Robert De Niro, Jane Rosenthal, and Craig Hatkoff in the wake of the September 11 attacks to revitalize Lower Manhattan through an annual celebration of world cinema, it has since expanded to include media events for both film and music.

The festival is presented by Tribeca Enterprises and the Tribeca Film Institute, with additional support from the City of New York, New York State Council on the Arts, National Endowment for the Arts, and other sponsors. The festival is a program of the nonprofit organization Tribeca Enterprises.

The festival features independent films from all over the world and a program of family-friendly films. The founders have described the festival as "competitive" with other festivals and emphasized its accessibility: "It's not just a festival; it's a public event with concerts. We want people to come down."

Tribeca's signature Red Carpet Awards Ceremony takes place at the opening night gala at Spring Studios, which has hosted such artists as Kanye West, Lady Gaga, Justin Timberlake, Michael Jackson, and The Rolling Stones.

TFF is one of the largest and most prestigious independent film festivals in North America, presenting more than 300 diverse feature films, documentaries, and short films from over 75 countries each year. TFF also offers year-round programming, including community engagement programs, educational programs for students; free screenings; filmmaker talks; panel discussions; concerts, dinners, parties, VIP receptions, awards ceremonies, galas, and more!

The 2022 Tribeca Film Festival will be held from Wednesday, 8 June, to Sunday, 19 June. Tickets will go on sale later in the year.
