Formula 1 - Singapore
The Singapore Grand Prix has been held at the Marina Bay Street Circuit since 2008. In 2008, Singapore GP Pte Ltd, the Singapore Tourism Board, and Bernie Ecclestone signed a five-year contract to organize the Formula 1 race in the city-state. The race starts with a long straight before entering a tight right-hand corner, leading into another straight section before another tight left-hander. Another long straight section follows before entering another corner and another straight section again.

In Formula 1, only four drivers have won from pole position: Sebastian Vettel, Lewis Hamilton, Fernando Alonso, and Michael Schumacher.

The Singapore Grand Prix is one of the most important races for Mercedes as the team's home race, which means they will be very motivated to do well. McLaren also has a strong record at this track, having won three times in their history (Hamilton and Button).

The event has become one of Asia's most popular annual sports events, drawing more than 100,000 people in attendance annually since its inception in 2008. The race also holds the unique distinction of having the first-ever running of an F1 race under floodlights after dark, making for an exciting spectacle for fans and drivers alike. In addition to being popular among locals, it attracts thousands of tourists every year from worldwide who come mainly for the carnival atmosphere that accompanies the event.

This year's Singapore GP has added significance because it marks the end of Daniel Ricciardo's Red Bull career and Fernando Alonso's 300th race in Formula 1.
The event is scheduled to be from Sept. 30 - to Oct. 2, 2022.
