Bentley Scottsdale Polo Championship

The Bentley Scottsdale Polo Championship is a significant polo tournament held annually at the Scottsdale Polo Club in Scottsdale, Arizona, United States. It is considered one of the premier polo tournaments globally. The tournament is held in February-November. The field includes 16 teams from around the world who play for $1 million.

John Goodman and Michael Quillen created the Bentley Scottsdale Polo Championship in 1992 with the help of their friend, British entrepreneur David M. Bentley III, who was born in London but has lived in Scottsdale since 1972. The first tournament was held in February 1993 and featured eight teams competing for $125,000 in prize money. The event has grown steadily, with more than 100 players participating by 2010. It also attracted celebrities such as Tom Brady, Hank Williams Jr., Dennis Hopper, and Kevin Costner, who has played at least once during their careers for charity or fun.

In addition to being a spectator-friendly event at the world-famous McCormick Ranch Golf Course, this annual tournament also serves as a fundraiser for local charities such as the Scottsdale Center for Performing Arts, Boys & Girls Clubs Greater Scottsdale, and Desert Botanical Garden. The Bentley Scottsdale Polo Championship draws some of the best players worldwide. These players compete on teams that include professional and amateur players, and the professional teams have won several awards over the years.

On November 5, 2022, the Bentley Scottsdale Polo Championships will return bigger than ever before. This is one of the most exciting polo events globally and one that draws huge crowds.
